Live updates: Outgoing DNC chair says Dems should build on current infrastructure; Vance says Hegseth is a ‘disrupter,’

President Trump’s whirlwind of a first week included him making good on several campaign promises as his cabinet picks were readily ushered into the new administration after this week’s Senate confirmation hearings.

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth’s confirmation warranted a tie-breaking ballot from Vice President Vance, who appeared on CBS’s “Face the Nation.”

CIA Director John Ratcliffe, who will be on Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures” also faced an uphill battle.

Vance on Sunday defended new Hegseth, calling him a “disrupter” who will prove “incredibly necessary.”

On NewsNation’s “The Hill Sunday,” outgoing DNC Chairman Jaimie Harrison urged Democrats to existing infrastructure from the past election cycle rather than to “just blow the whole thing up and start anew.”
