Eminem lends hand to Biden with ‘Lose Yourself’ campaign ad
Eminem signaled support for Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden this week by allowing Biden’s campaign to use his hit single “Lose Yourself” in a new advertisement.
The 45-second ad, filmed in black and white, shows people standing in line to vote wearing masks while the lyrics to the rapper’s hit song play.
Eminem has been famously protective of the license rights and royalties to his music, successfully suing a political campaign in New Zealand in 2017 after it used to same song in promotional materiel.
Eminem has been an outspoken critic of President Trump, blasting him in a taped freestyle rap during the BET Hip Hop Awards two years ago.
Biden has picked up several celebrity endorsements along the campaign trail, including singer and songwriter Beyonce Knowles, who implored voters in her home state of Texas to vote Trump out of office by sporting a Biden-Harris mask.
The Trump campaign has been sued by several musicians for playing their songs at rallies and other events this year.
