Obama congratulates Broncos on Super Bowl win
President Obama on Tuesday phoned members of the Denver Broncos to congratulate the team on their Super Bowl victory.
In a call with head coach Gary Kubiak and veteran defensive end DeMarcus Ware, the president “recognized the team’s talented players, including quarterback Peyton Manning,” who apparently was not on the call, “and the Denver defense, and noted that this win was the culmination of an impressive season,” the White House said.

The Broncos defeated the Carolina Panthers 24-10 on Sunday to claim their third Super Bowl title in team history.
Obama picked the favored Panthers, in a selection that was revealed the Monday after the game.
It was the second career Super Bowl victory for Manning, 39, who has hinted he could retire this offseason.
Manning suffered through injuries this season and struggled at times in the Super Bowl as Denver’s defense that carried the team to victory. Linebacker Von Miller was the MVP of the game.
