President Obama signed a stopgap funding bill to avert a government shutdown, the White House announced Thursday.
{mosads}The measure funds the government through Dec. 9 and is designed to buy time for lawmakers to hammer out a long-term budget bill in the lame-duck session of Congress.
It also includes a $1.1 billion package to fund the response to the Zika virus and half a billion dollars for flood relief in Louisiana, Maryland and other states.
The House cleared the legislation 342-84 hours after the Senate voted 72-26 to pass it.
