Ivanka Trump is meeting Monday with climate change activist and former Vice President Al Gore.
The president-elect’s daughter, who reportedly wants to make global warming one of her signature issues, will meet with Gore at Trump Tower in Manhattan, according to transition spokesman Jason Miller.
{mosads}The former vice president will not be meeting with the president-elect, Miller said in a conference call with reporters on Monday morning.
He would not elaborate on the contents of the meeting.
Ivanka has close ties to influential Democrats, and she has supported causes traditionally more dear to the left than to conservatives, including pushing her father to support child care and paid family leave policies.
Three of Trump’s adult children — Ivanka, Don Jr. and Eric — are serving as advisers to the transition team. Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, Ivanka’s husband, is also serving as a transition adviser.
Trump has promised to give a speech on Dec. 15 explaining how he will separate his family’s business interests from his administration.
So far, he’s signaled that he will leave the running of his business to his adult children. But it’s unclear whether they’ll continue blending advisory roles in his administration with their central roles in the Trump Organization.
