Trump: ‘Disgrace’ that Dems haven’t confirmed Cabinet nominees

President Trump on Tuesday evening blasted Senate Democrats, saying it was a “disgrace” that all of his Cabinet nominees had not yet been confirmed.

“It is a disgrace that my full Cabinet is still not in place, the longest such delay in the history of our country. Obstruction by Democrats!” Trump tweeted.

{mosads}Democrats are preparing to hold another all-night debate into Wednesday in protest of Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.), Trump’s pick to serve as attorney general.

Sessions has been under fire from Democrats, who have accused the lawmaker of making racially insensitive remarks while he served as a U.S. attorney in Alabama decades ago.

The nominee’s stance on immigration has also been a subject of controversy, with critics blasting Sessions for his fierce opposition to the 2013 bipartisan immigration reform bill.

The protest in the Senate comes a day after the Democrats held another all-nighter in an effort to stop the confirmation of Trump’s nominee to lead the Education Department, Betsy DeVos.

Two GOP senators joined all Democrats in voting against DeVos’s nomination, but the Senate confirmed her on Tuesday in a 51-50 vote, with Vice President Pence casting the tie-breaking vote.

DeVos was Trump’s fifth Cabinet pick to win confirmation. Around the same time in President Obama’s tenure, 12 of his Cabinet picks had been confirmed by the Senate.
