Majority does not approve of Trump’s handling of Russia probe
A majority of Americans do not approve of how President Trump is handling the investigation into Russia’s meddling in the presidential election, according to a new CBS News poll.
Sixty-three percent of Americans do not approve of how Trump is handling the investigation, while 37 percent approve.
A majority of Americans — 85 percent — also believe Trump talked about the Russia probe with former FBI Director James Comey, who had been leading the bureau’s investigation.
{mosads}While 48 percent believe Trump talked to Comey about stopping the probe, 37 percent believe the two just spoke about the investigation. Fifteen percent believe the two did not discuss the probe.
Seventy-nine percent also think any tapes of conversations between Comey and Trump should be handed over.
The online poll was conducted from May 17-19, surveying 2,385 adults nationwide. It has a margin of error of 2.5 percent.
