A man who climbed the White House fence in March and spent over 15 minutes on the White House lawn before being apprehended pleaded guilty on Thursday.
Jonathan Tran, 26, climbed the fence on March 10, carrying two cans of mace and a written letter to the president. President Trump was in the White House at the time.
Tran pleaded guilty to one charge of entering or remaining on restricted grounds, according to a news release from the U.S. attorney’s office of the District of Columbia.

The court has ordered Tran to avoid Washington and “Trump organizations” until his official sentencing on Sept. 25.
Tran made it to one of the doors of the White House before being apprehended. Two members of the Secret Service were fired over the incident, and at least six faced disciplinary action.
Trump later praised the Secret Service saying that the agents did “a fantastic job” and calling Tran a “troubled person.”
