An attorney for President Trump on Friday dismissed allegations of lawbreaking by members of the administration as the plot of “a fascinating movie one day.”

“But none of it violates the law,” Jay Sekulow said on CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360.

The White House has been engulfed in a wave of new revelations regarding Trump campaign officials secretly meeting with Russian officials. Earlier this week, the president’s son Donald Trump Jr. revealed a chain of emails that led to his meeting, during the campaign last year, a Russian attorney who claimed to have damaging information about Trump’s Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton.

The meeting included at least one person with alleged ties to the Russian government. Trump son-in-law and now-adviser Jared Kushner as well as then-Trump campaign chairman Paul Manaford also attended.

Sekulow pressed the point that the president was not in the meeting and had not been aware of it until recently.

“The president has stated very clearly that he was not aware of the meeting and did not attend the meeting,” Sekulow said. “And that has been undisputed. No one has disputed that. So he was not aware of it, did not attend it.”

The emails have raised questions about whether the Trump campaign colluded with a foreign government or violated campaign finance laws.

But according to Sekulow, this latest scandal in a long line of scandals affecting the White House is nothing but the plot of a future conspiracy movie.

Sekulow dodged when asked whether there were any additional emails that Trump Jr. did not release, saying only, “I’ve not reviewed any other documents.”
