Sarah Huckabee Sanders: Stephen Miller put Jim Acosta ‘in his place’

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said a top White House aide put a CNN reporter “in his place” at the press briefing on Wednesday.

Senior policy adviser Stephen Miller slammed CNN’s Jim Acosta as having a “cosmopolitan bias” when Acosta questioned him about newly proposed U.S. immigration policy.

Speaking on Fox News’s “Hannity,” Sanders predicted CNN would only run an “edited version” of the showdown that took place earlier in the day.

“But my guess is, it’s not the version where Stephen Miller puts him in his place,” she said.

{mosads}Miller took questions on the new policy from reporters at the on-camera press briefing and clashed with several reporters asking questions.

On-camera press briefings had been rare at the White House prior to Sanders taking over as chief press secretary. But Sanders commented that viewers are “smart” about such public battles.

“I think America is much smarter than the media gives them credit for, and I think that is certainly working toward our advantage,” she said.

The full “Hannity” interview with Sanders will air at 10 p.m.
