President Trump offered “prayers for all involved” in a Navy plane crash off the coast of Japan on Wednesday, saying that search and rescue operations were underway and that the U.S. is “monitoring the situation.”

“The @USNavy is conducting search and rescue following aircraft crash. We are monitoring the situation. Prayers for all involved,” he wrote on Twitter.

Trump’s tweet came hours after a U.S. Navy plane crashed in the ocean just southeast of Okinawa while en route to the USS Ronald Reagan aircraft carrier, which was operating in the Philippine Sea.

The plane was carrying 11 people, and so far, eight had been rescued and are in “good condition,” according to the U.S. Navy’s 7th Fleet. Recovery operations are still underway for the remaining three people.

The Navy is conducting an investigation into the crash — the 7th Fleet’s fifth accident since January.

Trump’s comment on the plane crash was his latest in a series of early morning tweets that took aim at the NFL’s policy on the national anthem and blasted the father of one of the UCLA basketball players whom Trump helped return to the U.S. last week after he was arrested in China.

Trump arrived at his private Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Fla., on Tuesday, and plans to spend the Thanksgiving holiday there.
