Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross reportedly lost his security detail during a trip to Southampton, N.Y., resulting in his detail handing out business cards at a local restaurant in its search for the Cabinet member.

“His security people lost him in the Hamptons,” a source told New York Post’s Page Six.

{mosads}“They went into the Golden Pear in Southampton and said, ‘Has anyone seen him?’ ”

“They said they had lost him and asked anyone who spotted him to call them. They gave out cards that said ‘Commerce Department security’ — and told the owner, ‘If you see him, will you call us immediately?’ ”

A second source told the newspaper that Ross had not dodged his detail last Friday, but arrived late at the meeting point.

A spokesperson for the Department of Commerce said Ross’s detail found the secretary in minutes.

“Five minutes later, they realized where he was. Mystery solved,” the spokesperson told Page Six.
