President Trump has “100 percent confidence” in Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, the White House said Monday, pushing back on reports the Cabinet official has lost the president’s trust.
“Absolutely,” White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said when asked if Trump has confidence in Ross, adding she spoke about it with the president earlier in the day.

“He has 100 percent confidence in Secretary Ross,” she added. “He loves Wilbur and thinks he has been a great advocate for the administration.”
The comments came in response to an Axios report that said Trump has been unimpressed with Ross’s trade negotiations with China. It also said Ross, 81, has fallen asleep during meetings.
