CNN: Kushner suspects people in White House are out to get him

Senior White House adviser Jared Kushner is reportedly suspicious that other administration members are “out to get him.”

Kushner, President Trump’s son-in-law, has been “paranoid” in recent days, sources close to Kushner told CNN, amid growing scrutiny about his security clearance and reports that foreign officials have discussed how to manipulate him.

The Washington Post reported Tuesday that officials in at least four foreign countries have discussed how to manipulate Kushner through his business interests and lack of foreign policy experience.

Kushner is reportedly suspicious about the timing of the story, telling people he thinks it was coordinated to be published while his security clearance was the focus of the news cycle, according to CNN.

Kushner was stripped of his top-secret security clearance on Tuesday after White House chief of staff John Kelly made changes to the internal system.

Trump’s son-in-law has had a broad portfolio and reportedly sought to keep his security clearances, leading to speculation about tensions between he and Kelly, who has come under fire for his handling of security clearances in the administration.

Trump last week said Kushner’s security clearance would be up to Kelly.

According to CNN’s sources, Kushner feels that the security clearance changes have been directed at him, and has asked colleagues, “Why is John Kelly doing this?”
