Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos on Monday said she wouldn’t use the kind of vulgar language President Trump recently invoked to refer to a prominent news anchor during a Pennsylvania campaign rally.
“Well, I would probably use different language myself,” DeVos told NBC “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie about Trump using “a dirty word” to refer to the network’s Chuck Todd.
“And I think we all have an opportunity and responsibility to be examples to our kids,” she added.
{mosads}DeVos said the example set for children expands to “the president as well.”
Her comments come after Trump called Todd a “sleeping son of a bitch” during an event for Republican congressional candidate Rick Saccone on Saturday.
Trump has repeatedly referred to Todd, who has helmed “Meet the Press” since 2014, as “sleepy eyes.”
