Parkland student appeals to Melania Trump after attacks by Laura Ingraham

A student who survived the Parkland, Fla., high school shooting appealed to first lady Melania Trump after Fox News host Laura Ingraham posted a critical tweet about her brother being rejected from colleges.

“HEY @FLOTUS MY BROTHER IS LITERALLY GETTING CYBERBULLIED BY @IngrahamAngle,” Lauren Hogg tweeted.

The comments from Lauren Hogg come after Ingraham tweeted a Daily Wire story Wednesday about David Hogg getting rejected from four colleges. 

“David Hogg Rejected By Four Colleges To Which He Applied and whines about it. (Dinged by UCLA with a 4.1 GPA…totally predictable given acceptance rates,)” Ingraham tweeted.

David Hogg — who has become a vocal advocate for gun control — replied a few hours later, tweeting at the Fox News host and asking who her biggest advertisers were.

He later tweeted out a list of Ingraham’s advertisers, telling people to contact those companies.

Ingraham later apologized in a pair of tweets on Thursday:

Hogg has emerged as a national figure in the weeks since a gunman opened fire at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., killing 17 people. 

He helped to organize and lead the March for Our Lives rally Saturday in Washington, D.C., and has been warning lawmakers that they will be voted out of office if they don’t pass new gun laws.

He has also faced criticism and has been at the center of conspiracy theories since he began speaking out for gun control.
