Trump complains Comey can ‘leak and lie’ while Flynn was ‘totally destroyed’
President Trump on Friday morning complained that the success of “Shadey James Comey’s” new book is not “really the way life in America is supposed to work.”
Trump said in comparison to the former FBI director, former national security adviser Michael Flynn’s life was “totally destroyed,” implying that both men leaked and lied and only one has gotten away with it.
“So General Michael Flynn’s life can be totally destroyed while Shadey James Comey can Leak and Lie and make lots of money from a third rate book (that should never have been written),” he tweeted. “Is that really the way life in America is supposed to work? I don’t think so!”

{mosads}Flynn was fired last year for lying to Vice President Pence regarding his communication with Russian officials. Trump also fired Comey last year for reasons that have since shifted, but at the time were related to alleged mismanagement.
Comey claims that Trump, in private conversation with him before he was fired, asked him about “letting this go” in reference to the investigation into Flynn.
The ongoing feud between Trump and Comey peaked this week with the release of Comey’s book “A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership” as well as Thursday night’s release of the memos Comey wrote during his time as FBI director describing his interaction with Trump.
Trump has railed against Comey and accused him of leaking because he previously provided an unclassified memo to a friend who then gave it to The New York Times. Comey says he did so in order to trigger the appointment of a special counsel in the Russia probe.
Flynn has since pleaded guilty of lying to the FBI and is now cooperating with Robert Mueller’s special counsel investigation.
