Melania Trump to unveil formal agenda on Monday

First lady Melania Trump will announce her formal initiatives during a White House press conference on Monday.

Trump’s agenda will focus on the well-being of children, according to her spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham.

“The unique aspect to this rollout is that she’s not choosing just one topic as has been done in the past,” Grisham said in an email.

CNN first reported Trump’s planned announcement.

While Trump announced shortly after her husband’s election that she would make cyberbullying a key issue for her office, she will outline her specific plans on Monday.

Some have criticized or mocked her decision to focus on that issue because of her husband’s propensity to use Twitter to attack critics and the news media, including occasionally targeting people’s appearances.

The first lady addressed critics during a meeting in March with tech company leaders to discuss cyberbullying, and vowed she would not be deterred.

“It will not stop me from doing what I know is right,” she said. “I’m here with one goal: helping children in our next generation.”

First ladies typically choose a cause or issue to focus on during their time in office. Recent examples include Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” campaign to encourage exercise and healthy eating, and Laura Bush’s childhood literacy initiative.
