Trump: ‘Excitement in the air’ ahead of Kim meeting
President Trump said on Sunday that there is “excitement in the air” in Singapore as he prepares for the summit meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
“Great to be in Singapore, excitement in the air!” the president tweeted on Sunday after landing in the country where the U.S.-North Korea summit will take place on June 12.

Both leaders have arrived in Singapore for their historic meeting. Trump canceled the summit last month after both sides exchanged criticism but then revived the summit after tensions cooled.{mosads}
Despite the high stakes for the meeting, Trump has said that he would know within seconds of the start of the talks whether Kim was serious about abandoning nuclear weapons.
“The first minute I’ll know — just my touch, my feel, that’s what I do,” Trump said over the weekend at the G-7 summit in Canada.
Earlier in the week, Trump also said he has done little preparation for the meeting, noting that the meeting would be all about “attitude.”
The U.S. is hoping to leave the summit with a commitment from North Korea to give up its nuclear weapons, but it is not yet clear what it would take for North Korea to agree to such an agreement.
