Trump: Charles Koch is correct when he says president’s actions are unfair to ‘foreign workers’

President Trump on Thursday questioned Charles Koch’s political donations, adding that the conservative mega-donor is correct when he says the president’s actions are unfair to “foreign workers.”

“Charles Koch of Koch Brothers, who claims to be giving away millions of dollars to politicians even though I know very few who have seen this (?), now makes the ridiculous statement that what President Trump is doing is unfair to ‘foreign workers,'” Trump tweeted early Thursday morning. “He is correct, AMERICA FIRST!”

Koch over the weekend called Trump’s tariffs “unfair” to foreign countries and their workers.

“This is ridiculous. We should just get rid of all barriers except on things that will hurt people,” Koch told the media during a donor summit in Colorado, according to ABC News.

“It’s unfair to their people,” Koch added.

Trump slammed Charles Koch and his brother David on Tuesday after reports emerged that the political network they formed criticized Trump’s trade policies.

“The globalist Koch Brothers, who have become a total joke in real Republican circles, are against Strong Borders and Powerful Trade,” Trump said in a series of tweets early Tuesday.

Though the Koch political network has pledged to spend $400 million during the 2018 midterm elections, top Koch officials on Sunday said they will more aggressively target Republicans who do not adhere to free-market views on issues like spending and tariffs.

Trump in recent months has slapped billions of dollars in tariffs on goods from Canada, the European Union, China and Mexico, resulting in retaliatory actions.
