Omarosa book claims she saw Trump chewing up piece of paper after meeting with Cohen

Former White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman claims in her new book that she saw President Trump chewing up a piece of paper following a meeting with Michael Cohen, his personal lawyer at the time.

“I saw him put a note in his mouth. Since Trump was ever the germaphobe, I was shocked he appeared to be chewing and swallowing the paper. It must have been something very, very sensitive,” she writes in “Unhinged: An Insider Account of the Trump White House.”

Several White House aides laughed at the assertion and said it was not true, according to the Post.

The White House criticized Manigault Newman in an official statement on Friday, with which press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders calling her a “disgruntled former White House employee” who is “trying to profit off false attacks.”

Manigault Newman also claims in her book that Trump repeatedly used a racial slur and that there are tapes from his reality-show days at NBC that would prove it, though she said she had never personally heard him use the word.

Manigault Newman said she saw the paper eating when Cohen was leaving the office.

The Post reported that another White House aide confirmed that Manigault Newman walked Cohen into the Oval Office for meetings that day with Trump — something that she was later reprimanded for.

Manigault Newman was fired by White House chief of staff John Kelly in December.

The FBI raided Cohen’s home and offices earlier this year after receiving a referral from special counsel Robert Mueller. During the raid, agents seized communications between Cohen and his clients, Cohen’s attorney said at the time.

Trump initially criticized the raid, but ties between he and Cohen have since grown strained amid signs that Cohen may be thinking about cooperating with prosecutors.
