President Trump’s adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner on Monday said he wouldn’t describe it as “fun” to work in the White House but added that he is “invigorated” by the job.
“I wouldn’t say fun. I have a lot of joy in my life and I feel very blessed to be there every day, fighting for the things I’m fighting for,” Kushner said during a CNN political conference when asked by Van Jones if he was having fun in his role in the White House.
{mosads}”It’s a lot of responsibility to do the jobs that we have. But I’d say more invigorated by it. I think it’s obviously the challenge of a lifetime,” Kushner added.
The husband of Ivanka Trump, who has helped lead Trump’s policies in the Middle East, also said that, despite high staff turnover and sometimes an outward appearance of chaos, there are parts of the Trump administration “where it’s calm and everything’s moving forward.”
Media reports have described the Trump White House as one that is in constant disarray and rife with infighting.
“We work with so many incredible people. You have the waves and the action above, but then you have everything that’s happening below the water, where it’s calm and everything’s moving forward,” Kushner said. “This president has hired and attracted so many incredibly talented people who care about this country, who want to make things better and who aren’t afraid to make the tough decisions.”
