Ex-CIA chief rips into Trump: You’d need ‘an extremely tall ladder’ to reach intellect and integrity of McRaven
Former CIA chief John Brennan blasted President Trump on Monday, saying the president would need “an extremely tall ladder” to approach the “intellect, competence & integrity of Bill McRaven.”
{mosads}”You constantly remind us how substantively shallow & dishonest you are on so many fronts, which is why we are in such dangerous times,” Brennan tweeted.
“You would need an extremely tall ladder to get anywhere near the level of intellect, competence & integrity of Bill McRaven & your predecessors,” he added, referring to the retired admiral and Navy SEAL who led the operation to assassinate Osama bin Laden in 2011.

Trump said during an interview over the weekend with Fox News that it would have “been nice if we got Osama bin Laden a lot sooner.”
He made the comment when questioned about criticism from McRaven, who said the president’s attacks on the media are the “greatest threat to democracy in [his] lifetime.”
Brennan is a frequent critic of Trump on both Twitter and cable news. Trump pulled the former CIA director’s security clearance earlier this year.
