{mosads}Bezos announced Wednesday that he and his wife of 25 years, MacKenzie, were getting a divorce.
“Though the labels might be different, we remain a family, and we remain cherished friends,” Bezos said in a statement.
Bezos, 54, and MacKenzie, 48, were married in early 1993, according to the Post. They met while working at a New York-based hedge fund. They have four children.
The president has regularly antagonized Bezos, criticizing both Amazon and The Washington Post.
Trump has criticized Amazon’s agreement with the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) to ship packages at reduced rates, blaming the retail giant for the fiscal woes at USPS and for hurting smaller businesses.
He has blasted The Washington Post’s coverage of his administration, and on multiple occasions suggested the newspaper is a lobbyist for Amazon.
