Trump 2020 campaign manager hits George Conway: ‘Think how bad of a husband you have to be’

President Trump’s 2020 campaign manager Brad Parscale on Wednesday lashed out at George Conway, the husband of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, over a tweet in which Conway mocked Trump as a “laughingstock.”

“Think how bad of a husband you have to be to act this way,” Parscale tweeted in response to Conway.

The exchange between Parscale and Conway came after Trump this week raised eyebrows by serving a large quantity of fast food to the national champion Clemson University Tigers. The meal involved Wendy’s, McDonald’s, Burger King, and Dominos Pizza, which Trump said he paid for out-of-pocket.

{mosads}“Great being with the National Champion Clemson Tigers last night at the White House,” Trump wrote in a since-deleted tweet on Tuesday. “Because of the Shutdown I served them massive amounts of Fast Food (I paid), over 1000 hamberders etc.”

Burger King swept in with a jab on social media, tweeting, “due to a large order placed yesterday, we’re all out of hamberders. just serving hamburgers today.”

Conway, a frequent and sharp critic of Trump, retweeted the Burger King response.

“Think of how much of a laughingstock a president has to become to have *Burger King* make fun of him,” Conway wrote. “Sad.”

Other members of Trump’s orbit have targeted Conway before. The president’s son, Eric, last month accused Conway of showing “utter disrespect” toward Kellyanne.

“Of all the ugliness in politics, the utter disrespect George Conway shows toward his wife, her career, place of work, and everything she has fought SO hard to achieve, might top them all,” Eric Trump tweeted.

Conway, a lawyer, has organized a group with the goal of urging fellow conservative lawyers to speak out against the Trump administration’s actions.

Kellyanne in a Washington Post profile published over the summer called her husband’s repeated criticisms of her boss “disrespectful.”

“I think it’s disrespectful,” she said. “I think it disrespects his wife.”

She then walked back her comments by saying that she thinks that “people see it that way.”
