President Trump is reportedly in the process of planning a tell-all memoir that would be released following his time as president.

The Daily Beast reported Friday that sources close to the president say that Trump expects the book to sell better than his previous best-selling book “The Art of the Deal.”

{mosads}“He sounded excited about it,” said one person who told the Daily Beast they were present for conversations about the book. “He said it would sell better than even The Art of the Deal.”

When contacted by the Daily Beast, a White House official told the outlet that the president has “joked” about writing a memoir and pointed to a press conference in 2018 during which Trump suggested to a reporter that he was aware of lawmakers who had been accused of sexual misconduct.

“I think I’ll save it for a book, like everybody else, and I’ll write it,” the president said at the time, according to the news outlet. “I’m not giving it to you.”

Sources close to the president told the Daily Beast that Trump has been privately discussing the potential project since mid-2017, months after he took office.

A number of former White House officials who served in the Trump administration have detailed parts of their time in the administration and the Trump campaign in previous books billed as tell-all memoirs. Omarosa Manigault Newman, a former senior White House official, faced resistance over her own memoir of her time in the administration.
