Trump renews unfounded allegations of illegal voting

President Trump on Tuesday renewed his false claim that immigrants living illegally in the U.S. vote in large numbers.

Speaking to the conservative youth organization Turning Point USA, Trump said without citing evidence that the immigrants put on different hats and clothes in order to vote multiple times in states like California.

{mosads}“You’ve got people voting that shouldn’t be voting,” the president said. “They vote many times. Not just two times, not just three times … It’s a rigged deal.”

Trump has repeatedly made allegations of rampant voter fraud during his 2 1/2 years in the White House, all without providing evidence. He said that millions of illegal votes cost him the popular-vote victory in 2016 against Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

The president in January 2018 disbanded a White House commission tasked with looking into those accusations. It found no proof of widespread voter fraud.
