Trump pushes back on recent polling data, says internal numbers are ‘strongest we’ve had so far’

President Trump on Monday touted what he said were his “strongest” internal poll numbers, despite external surveys indicating his disapproval ratings are on the rise.

Trump did not provide any details about his internal polling figures.

He also argued there’s “great cohesion” in the GOP.

“Great cohesion inside the Republican Party, the best I have ever seen. Despite all of the Fake News, my Poll Numbers are great. New internal polls show them to be the strongest we’ve had so far! Think what they’d be if I got fair media coverage!” Trump tweeted on Monday morning.

The president slammed Fox News on Sunday over its recent polling that showed the president’s disapproval ratings on the rise.

A Fox News poll released last week showed Trump’s disapproval rating at 56 percent, a record high in polling by Fox.

“I don’t know what’s happening with Fox,” Trump told reporters Sunday as he prepared to leave Bedminster, N.J., for Washington, saying he doesn’t “believe” the polls.

A separate Fox News survey released last week showed Trump losing head-to-head match-ups against four top Democratic presidential candidates.

The president followed up with two more tweets Monday morning, lashing out at former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci, who was on CNN talking about forming a group of former Cabinet members to speak out against Trump.
