President Trump said Thursday that he plans to go to Game 5 of the World Series on Sunday in Washington, D.C.

Trump joked that he would need “a lot of heavy armor” when asked if he were going to throw out the first pitch.

“I don’t know, they got to dress me up in a lot of heavy armor — I’ll look too heavy,” Trump said in the Oval Office while awarding the Presidential Medal of Freedom to former auto racer Roger Penske. “I don’t like that.”

{mosads}The Washington Nationals are scheduled to play the Houston Astros on Sunday evening in Game 5 of the World Series.

However, the Nationals are already leading 2-0 in the series, meaning that if they win Games 3 and 4 in Washington on Friday and Saturday, a fifth game will not be necessary.

Trump’s appearance at the World Series would mark his first appearance at a Nationals game since he moved into the White House in January 2017.

Trump rarely attends sporting events as president. He attended the 2018 college football championship game between the University of Georgia and the University of Alabama in Atlanta. The president has also attended the annual Army-Navy games.

This is the first time a baseball team representing Washington, D.C., has been in the World Series since 1933.

The possibility of Trump attending a game has been widely speculated upon, as has the reaction he might get from fans in the stands.
