White House: Biden COVID symptoms have ‘improved significantly’

FILE - President Joe Biden removes his face mask as he arrives to speak about the economy during a meeting with CEOs in the South Court Auditorium on the White House complex in Washington, Thursday, July 28, 2022.

President Biden is in better health, in recovery from a COVID diagnosis, White House physician Kevin O’Connor announced Sunday.

Biden received his eighth dose of Paxlovid treatment early Sunday and his symptoms have “improved significantly,” he said. The president is isolating at his Delaware home and continues to perform the work of the president.

He was diagnosed with COVID on Wednesday, his third time coming down with the disease.

The news comes the same day Biden announced he will not seek reelection, following weeks of building pressure from Democrats.
