Trump on Roswell: ‘I won’t talk to you about what I know about it, but it’s very interesting’

President Trump claims to know secret information about Roswell, the New Mexico city known for its proximity to a famous UFO event.

In a Father’s Day interview with his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., he was asked if he would work to gather more information on the event “and let us know what’s really going on.”

“I won’t talk to you about what I know about it, but it’s very interesting,” the president said.

When asked if he would declassify the information he’s referring to, Trump said: “Well, I’ll have to think about that one.”

In 1947, a rancher near Roswell found debris in his sheep pasture, and at the time Air Force officials said it was a weather balloon that crashed. Decades later, the U.S. military acknowledged that the debris was in fact related to a top-secret atomic project. The theory that the debris came from a UFO has flourished over the years.

Last year, Trump had a short briefing on a Navy UFO sighting, where he expressed skepticism on the existence of extraterrestrial aircraft.

“People are saying they’re seeing UFOs. Do I believe it? Not particularly,” Trump said.
