The Trump coronavirus fallout: Who in his circle has tested positive for COVID-19

President Trump announced early Friday morning that he has contracted COVID-19, requiring dozens of people who recently came in contact with him to get tested for the coronavirus.

Many members of the Trump family, White House staff and others were tested Friday.

Some, like the chairwoman of the Republican National Committee, had tested positive earlier in the week.

But others who were in close contact with the president as recently as Thursday will likely need another test to ensure any recent negative results are accurate.

Here’s what we know so far.

Tested positive

White House adviser Hope Hicks tested positive for COVID-19 mid-week before Trump’s positive results. Media learned of her diagnosis on Thursday.

Former White House adviser Kellyanne Conway, who was at a White House event on Saturday, tweeted she tested positive on Friday night.

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R), who was aboard Air Force One on Tuesday, tweeted that he tested positive on Saturday.

White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany tweeted that she tested positive on Monday after testing negative on Friday.

Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel tested positive for the coronavirus on Wednesday, but did not reveal the diagnosis until Friday.

Trump campaign manager Bill Stepien tested positive on Friday, according to the campaign.

First lady Melania Trump tested positive along with the president, according to a tweet from the president.

Nick Luna, one of President Trump’s personal assistants, tested positive, Bloomberg reported.

Tested negative

Vice President Pence, as well as second lady Karen Pence, tested negative on Friday and Saturday, his office said.

Democratic nominee Joe Biden, who spent 90 minutes on stage with Trump on Tuesday, tested negative on Friday, his doctor said.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) tested negative on Friday, her spokesman said.

White House chief of staff Mark Meadows has tested negative “every day this week,” according to his spokesman.

Secretary of Health and Human Services Alex Azar, who was at a White House event on Monday, tweeted that he tested negative.

Amy Coney Barrett, Trump’s Supreme Court pick, tested negative Friday, according to the White House. She met with the president last Saturday.

Defense Secretary Mark Esper tested negative Friday after meeting with Trump on Sunday, according to the Pentagon.

Rudy Giuliani, the president’s lawyer, got a negative test result Friday, he told the New York Daily News. 

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin tested negative on Friday, a department spokesperson said.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told reporters he tested negative for the coronavirus Friday.

Attorney General William Barr tested negative Friday, according to the Department of Justice.

Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Mark Milley tested negative on Friday, according to the Pentagon.

Ivanka Trump, the president’s eldest daughter, and her husband, Jared Kushner, tested negative on Friday, the White House said. Both are White House advisers.

Barron Trump, the president’s teenage son, also tested negative, the first lady’s spokeswoman said Friday.
