President Biden and Vice President Harris marked Father’s Day on Sunday, sending well wishes to the nation’s dads and father figures.

“Happy Father’s Day to the fathers, stepfathers, grandfathers, and father figures who enrich our character, love us unconditionally, and give so much of themselves every day so we can live lives worthy of their dreams and sacrifices,” Biden tweeted.

Biden is a father to Ashley Biden and Hunter Biden, as well as the late Beau Biden and Naomi Biden.

Beau Biden, who previously served as attorney general of Delaware, died of an aggressive form of brain cancer in 2015. Naomi Biden died at one years old in a car accident that also killed the president’s wife, Neilia Biden.

Harris on Sunday also shared a Father’s Day message, tweeting that “America’s fathers make families stronger.”

“They make our nation stronger. Today, we celebrate the fathers in our families, our communities, and our country,” Harris shared, alongside a photo of her husband, Douglas Emhoff, and his two children, Cole Emhoff and Ella Emhoff.

Emhoff on Twitter shared that he was “kicking off Father’s Day in New York.”

The second gentleman on Sunday delivered the keynote speech at a World Refugee Day Naturalization Ceremony at the New York Historical Society

And first lady Jill Biden on social media remembered her own father, in addition to celebrating her husband. She said his “boundless love for our family is our anchor.”
