Former Attorney General William Barr is poised to release a memoir in early March detailing his service under the George H.W. Bush and Trump administrations.
The memoir, titled “One Damn Thing After Another: Memoirs of an Attorney General,” is set to be released on March 8 and “provides a candid account of his historic tenures serving two vastly different presidents, George H.W. Bush and Donald J. Trump,” HarperCollins Publishers imprint William Morrow announced.
“In this candid memoir, Barr takes readers behind the scenes during seminal moments of the 1990s, from the LA riots to Pan Am 103 and Iran Contra. Thirty years later, Barr faced an unrelenting barrage of issues, such as Russiagate, the COVID outbreak, civil unrest, the impeachments, and the 2020 election fallout,” according to William Morrow’s summary of the book.
At one time considered a loyalist to former President Trump, the two-time attorney general has since fallen out of the former president’s good graces after he rebuked the violence on Jan. 6 as “outrageous and despicable.” Barr also stated that there was no substantial evidence of voter fraud in the 2020 election during an interview with The Associated Press.
“To date, we have not seen fraud on a scale that could have affected a different outcome in the election,” Barr told the AP in an interview in December 2020.
The former president has since denounced Barr, including last June when excerpts from ABC News correspondent Jonathan Karl’s book, “Betrayal,” were released, in which the former attorney general said Trump’s claims about the election were “bullshit.”
“Bill Barr was a disappointment in every sense of the word,” Trump said in a statement at the time.
