Clinton projected to win Arkansas, Oklahoma, Tennessee; Obama victorious in Illinois, Georgia

Sen. Barack Obama was projected to win his home state of Illinois, while the networks called Oklahoma and Tennessee for Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.). Both are expected to win comfortably.

{mosads}It is unclear how the delegates will be allocated in the two states, given the Democratic National Committee’s (DNC) rules allocating them. Illinois carries 185 delegates and Oklahoma has 47.

Both results, coming from states where polls closed at 8:00 p.m. EST, mirrored polling and exit polling there.

Clinton, an Illinois native, was never expected to seriously challenge Obama there.

Tennessee, which carries 85 delegates, represents Clinton's first win in the South Super Tuesday night, after what appears to be an overwhelming victory for Obama in Georgia.

The Clinton campaign argued Tuesday night that Oklahoma and Tennessee — both projected for Clinton — were the first two Super Tuesday states where both candidates "competed fiercely."
