Gov. Larry Hogan (R-Md.) defeated former NAACP President and Democratic candidate Ben Jealous to win a second term as The Old Line State’s governor.
{mosads}Hogan has bucked the national trend by becoming one of the nation’s most popular governors in one of the bluest states in the country. Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton won Maryland against President Trump by 26 points in 2016.
While Hogan ran a campaign billing himself as a moderate, Jealous garnered the support of several progressive groups such as MoveOn and Our Revolution.
