Biden campaign unveils new TV ad during NFL season kickoff
President Biden’s reelection campaign unveiled a new ad that will highlight his economic agenda during the NFL season opener.
The ad will run Thursday for the prime-time game between the Detroit Lions and Kansas City Chiefs. It will target battleground states and appear on national cable networks, as well as on digital and Connected TV.
The ad, entitled “Got to Work,” outlines job creation and work to bring down inflation during Biden’s presidency. It’s part of a 16-week, $25 million advertising blitz and will run on broadcast and cable TV in Phoenix; Atlanta; Detroit; Las Vegas; Raleigh, N.C.; Philadelphia; and Milwaukee. The spot will also run on national cable on MSNBC, CNN and daytime Fox News.
“They said millions would lose their jobs and the economy would collapse. But this president refused to let that happen,” the 30-second ad says, outlining Biden’s work to fix supply chains, fight corporate greed, pass laws to lower the cost of medicine, cut utility bills and make the U.S. more energy independent.
“Today, inflation is down to 3 percent, unemployment — the lowest in decades,” the ad continues.
Biden has leaned into his economic agenda, dubbed “Bidenomics,” as a major selling point in the 2024 election while Republicans have consistently hit him on lingering high inflation and the high cost of gas and other goods.
“While MAGA Republicans compete against each other on their most extreme and unpopular positions, our campaign is investing in reaching a general election audience by investing in primetime placement,” said Michael Tyler, Biden-Harris 2024 communications director, in a Tuesday statement. “This buy sends a clear message that we are running an aggressive, winning campaign.”
