Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), who is running for Senate, unveiled a new Jan. 6-themed advertisement warning that the country faces an “even greater danger” following former President Trump’s win in Iowa.

The advertisement, titled “Danger,” touts Schiff’s efforts to hold Trump accountable on various issues as the California congressman battles other Democrats for the Senate seat. Schiff was the lead House manager of Trump’s first impeachment.

“When our democracy was in danger, he stood up. Adam Schiff took on a corrupt president. He fought to protect our values and the rule of law,” the ad’s narrator says over clips of Jan. 6 rioters attacking the Capitol.

“Now, we face an even greater danger,” the ad narrator states as video shows the New York Times headline “Why a Second Trump Presidency May be More Radical than His First.”

“We need Adam Schiff more than ever,” the ad states.

Schiff’s office said the advertisement is backed by a five-figure buy.

House Republicans voted to censure Schiff in June over his unrelenting criticism against the former president.

Schiff was also forced by former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) to leave the House Intelligence Committee, which he chaired for four years, at the beginning of 2023.

Last January, Schiff officially launched his bid for the Senate seat formerly held by Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), who died in September 2023.

He faces a crowded primary but has earned the backing of key politicians in the state, including Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and a majority of other Democratic representatives in his state.
