House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.) announced Friday that he had raised more than $27 million in 2023 for his new fundraising forum, called the Scalise Leadership Fund 2024, to help Republicans seeking reelection or election.

“Right now Republicans have momentum and these resources will help us secure victory in the races we need to win to not only defend, but expand our Republican House Majority,” Scalise said in the announcement. “Voters are tired of Joe Biden and the Radical Left’s failed agenda raising the cost of living and leaving our border wide open. In November, they will vote Republican.”

Last year, Scalise raised more than $13.5 million in major dollar contributions, which was the largest amount of money in a single year and the most in an off year, according to the release.

Of the total donations, $11.5 million was raised online from 126,000 donors. The average donation was $19.12, his office said.

Scalise transferred $9.7 million to the National Republican Congressional Committee and gave $3.5 million to other candidates, according to the release.

The Louisiana Republican has long been a top fundraiser, smashing records and raising millions for more than six years.

Scalise’s fundraising comes months after former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) was ousted from his position, stirring up concern and questions about how other GOP members would fundraise heading into a critical election year to hold their narrow majority in the House.

Scalise’s new leadership fund will support more than 50 GOP entities by providing them a maximum contribution of $579,600 with the hopes to “fully support and fight for conservative candidates and incumbents in the races we need to win.”
