Greene says GOP ‘eradicating’ Trump skeptics from party

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) said Tuesday that former President Trump’s New Hampshire victory sent a clear message to her colleagues: support his policies or get pushed out of the party.

“This is a true change for the Republican Party. It says not only do we support President Trump, we support his policies, and any Republican that isn’t willing to adapt … these policies, we are completely eradicating from the party,” Greene said in an interview with NBC News’s Vaughn Hillyard.

Trump beat Nikki Haley by double digits in New Hampshire, which many saw as a make-or-break state for her candidacy. Calls for the former South Carolina governor to drop out have been growing overnight.

With President Biden also winning the Democratic primary with a write-in campaign, the 2024 race is looking more and more like a rematch between the 2020 nominees.

Greene’s warning to dissenters in her party comes as figures such as Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel said the Iowa and New Hampshire results show the need to coalesce around Trump

A number of Trump’s former 2024 rivals have done just that, with Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), Vivek Ramaswamy and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum campaigning by the ex-president’s side in New Hampshire.

Greene, among Trump’s most fervent supporters in Congress, has already taken steps to stifle party disloyalty.

She called House Freedom Caucus Chair Bob Good (R-Va.), who backed Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) against Trump, a “MAGA traitor” and endorsed his primary opponent, Virginia state Sen. John McGuire (R).

McGuire has called on Republicans to unify behind the Trump campaign as the only way to defeat “Marxist, freedom-crushing policies.”
