President Biden’s reelection team had its best grassroots fundraising month in January since it launched, the campaign first told The Hill.

The campaign doubled the amount of grassroots donors from December to January who gave through just the JoeBiden.com website, which is what powered the increase last month.

Also, it said the New Hampshire Democratic primary, when Biden won the write-in initiative, brought in strong grassroots enthusiasm for the campaign.

“Month after month, Team Biden Harris continues to show strong and early action. It’s a testament to our strong grassroots program and that our coalition is mobilized around the stakes of this election,” Rob Flaherty, deputy campaign manager, told The Hill.

More than 130,000 sustaining donors have committed to donating every month, which is nearly double the amount at this point in the 2020 cycle, according to the campaign. Additionally, one-third of the donor universe are new donors since the 2020 campaign.

The campaign announced last month it has $117 million on hand, in what aides claim is the largest sum for any Democratic candidate in history at this point in the race. The campaign raised more than $97 million in the fourth quarter of 2023.

The news comes as Biden seeks to gain momentum out of South Carolina’s Democratic primary Saturday. He has invested heavily in the state — as the state gave the incumbent the boost he needed in 2020 to win the parties nomination.
