Former President Trump won the Arkansas GOP primary on Tuesday, according to a projection from Decision Desk HQ.

Trump was widely expected to win the Natural State, given its deep-red hue.

He was endorsed last year by Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders (R), a top ally who had served as White House press secretary during his administration.

Notably, Trump faced a primary challenge from former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R), who had staked his candidacy on a critique of the former president but failed to gain any traction. He dropped out of the race in January following a sixth-place finish in the Iowa caucuses.

Arkansas is one of 15 states, plus the U.S. territory of American Samoa, holding nominating contests as part of Super Tuesday. Trump is widely expected to win most if not all of the states, bringing him ever closer to the finish line in the Republican nominating contest.
