GOP’s Nella Domenici raises $1.25M in race against New Mexico Sen. Martin Heinrich

Sen. Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) is seen as he arrives to the Capitol for a vote on Thursday, March 14, 2024.

Republican Nella Domenici raised $1.25 million between January and March in the race to unseat Sen. Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.), her campaign announced Friday.

Her campaign said Domenici, the daughter of the late Sen. Pete Domenici (R-N.M.) and a former Bridgewater Associates executive, received contributions from more than 1,100 donors and noted her fundraising haul for the first quarter is the highest a Republican Senate candidate has raised in the state during an election year’s first quarter.

Heinrich’s campaign has not yet reported its fundraising haul for the first quarter of this year, but the deadline to report is April 15.

The New Mexico Democrat hauled in $781,000 in the fourth quarter of fundraising last year and ended the year with $3.5 million cash on hand.

Heinrich is vying for his third term in the upper chamber. He beat his last challenger, Republican Mick Rich, by close to 24 points in 2018. The nonpartisan election handicapper rates Heinrich’s seat “solid Democrat.”
