Biden attorney preparing for legal challenges to November vote

President Biden’s personal attorney, Bob Bauer, suggested he’s preparing for legal challenges to the 2024 election results in November, when Biden faces former President Trump in a 2020 rematch.

Bauer, in an interview with Politico, warned about challenges, considering the aftermath of the 2020 election.

“We’re seeing — and have seen — election officials say, ‘If I’m not satisfied with the outcome here, I may not certify; I’ll just block it.’ And you saw that play out very dramatically in Michigan in 2020. That is something that we might see more of this time around,” Bauer said.

Following the 2020 election, when Biden won Michigan, fake electors sent certifications to Congress declaring Trump won the state. Since then, 16 Michigan GOP officials have been charged for the scheme, and the Michigan attorney general’s office said Trump is an unindicted co-conspirator in the ongoing investigation.

Prosecutors allege that the Trump campaign and his allies, including former Trump attorneys Rudy Giuliani and Jenna Ellis, among others, worked with local GOP officials to override the 2020 results by sending the fraudulent list of Electoral College voters.

Republicans have been divided on pledging to accept the 2024 election results, with a group of senators rejecting the idea that a Biden win would likely be a result of fraud, but others, including those who have risen to Trump’s VP shortlist, declining to say they would accept the results.
