How to watch JD Vance’s GOP convention speech
Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) is making his political debut as former President Trump’s running mate with a highly anticipated speech Wednesday evening.
Trump announced Vance as his running mate Monday after weeks of speculation about whom he would pick as his vice president. Vance, Ohio’s junior senator, will be making his first in-person remarks since becoming the GOP’s vice presidential nominee at the Republican National Convention.
This is a high-stakes moment for the Ohio Republican as he tries to make his case to Americans, who are largely unfamiliar with him, according to a recent poll.
Here’s how you can tune into Vance’s remarks Wednesday night:
When will he be speaking?
He will speak at 9:30 p.m. CDT. His wife, Usha, will introduce him.
Where will he be giving his speech?
He will be speaking at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.
Where can you watch it?
It’s Vance’s first political test as the GOP vice presidential candidate, so the GOP’s convention YouTube channel will also be streaming the events.
You can watch his remarks and the rest of the Republican National Convention via The Hill.
Who else is expected to speak Wednesday?
Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Texas), Donald Trump Jr., Kimberly Guilfoyle and former Trump trade adviser Peter Navarro are all expected to take the stage Wednesday night, as well.
Trump is expected to give his own address Thursday night. He said he rewrote the speech after being the target of an attempted assassination over the weekend.
