Harris stresses rights, freedom in first campaign video
Vice President Harris on Thursday unveiled her first presidential campaign video, which focuses on rights and freedom.
The video, which is called “We Choose Freedom” and is 79 seconds long, features Harris as its narrator and the Beyoncé song “Freedom.”
“The freedom not just to get by, but to get ahead. The freedom to be safe from gun violence. The freedom to make decisions about your own body. We choose a future when no child lives in poverty, where we can all afford health care,” Harris says.
“Where no one is above the law,” she adds as the ad shows a photograph of former President Trump’s mug shot and headlines about his legal issues. “We believe in the promise of America, and we are ready to fight for it. Because when we fight, we win. So join us.”
This video will air across all campaign social media platforms, according to the campaign.
The ad dropped days after Harris clinched enough support from Democratic delegates to secure the party’s nomination. The vice president has seen an influx of endorsements and fundraising for her new campaign since President Biden on Sunday announced he was dropping out of the race and supporting Harris.
Biden in an Oval Office address Wednesday night explained his decision to withdraw from the race, saying it was meant to unite Democrats.
