Democrats troll Fox News’s Ingraham after Minnesota gaffe

Wisconsin Democrats are mocking Laura Ingraham of Fox News after she said Milwaukee is in Minnesota during an on-air appearance Wednesday.

“If you know Minnesota well, and I know it well — especially Milwaukee — it’s changed,” she said Wednesday on Fox News. “It has never recovered from 2020 and it is not the same place.”

“I guess the sexual harassment and election lie lawsuits put a significant dent in Fox News’ map budget,” said Rep. Gwen Moore (D-Wis.). “While I love my neighbors in Minnesota, I’m perfectly happy to be the Congresswoman for Milwaukee, WISCONSIN.”

Ingraham was on a Fox News panel discussing Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, the Democratic vice presidential nominee, and his record as governor in the state during riots and racial unrest tied to the police killing of George Floyd.

Republicans have turned Walz’s tenure as governor during the unrest into a campaign attack against him, painting him as responsible for the damages to Minneapolis during riots.

“Tim Walz is a radical who let rioters burn Minneapolis to the ground in 2020 — the same rioters Kamala Harris raised money to bail out,” House Majority Leader Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) said. “They’re a dangerous duo that’ll let crime destroy our communities.”

On Thursday, Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers (D) also responded to Ingraham with a picture pointing on his hand to where Milwaukee would be on a state map.

“Hi Laura,” he wrote. “Milwaukee is located here.”

“Hope this helps,” he added.

Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson (D) also weighed in, writing, “now it all makes sense.”

“When he called Milwaukee horrible, he wasn’t talking about us — he was talking about the one in Minnesota,” he wrote. “If there’s a Mayor Johnson there too, he’d also probably say ‘Right back at you, buddy.'”

Johnson was referring back to a controversy earlier in the summer when Trump called Milwaukee a “horrible city” while speaking to congressional Republicans. The Republican National Convention was held in Milwaukee this year.

Trump’s comments about Milwaukee were leaked from that meeting, and Democrats seized on them to mock Trump.

At the time, Johnson posted, “Milwaukee is a terrific city. Pass it on.”

“All of us lived through his presidency, so right back at ya, buddy,” Johnson added while speaking to the press in Milwaukee about Trump.
