Trump says Harris’s economic agenda will make costs ‘100 times worse’

Former President Trump took a swing at Vice President Harris’s newly debuted economic plan Friday, claiming her proposals will make costs “100 times worse.”

“If you think things are expensive now, they will get 100 times WORSE if Kamala gets four years as President,” he wrote on Truth Social.

The former president fired off three posts back-to-back slamming Harris’s economic agenda, which she revealed Friday while campaigning in North Carolina. The broad set of proposals — which range from cutting taxes, expanding tax credits for childcare and first-time homebuyers and a federal ban on grocery price gouging — mark priorities on the vice president’s agenda for her first 100 days in office if elected in November, the campaign said.

In his posts, Trump compared Harris’s plan to a communist agenda.

“Under her plan, Kamala will implement SOVIET Style Price Controls,” he wrote in one post, adding “She will abolish private health care, and make California’s ridiculous tax policies the law of the land, meaning EVERY American will be taxed up to 80% of their income!”

In another post he said, “If Kamala is elected and implements her Communist Price Caps, there will be famine, starvation, and poverty, the likes of which we have never seen.”

An analysis from the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget said that Harris’s proposal could cost $1.7 trillion dollars over a decade, with $1.2 trillion of that amount coming from the proposed expansion of the child tax credit.

In his rant, Trump also alleged that the vice president’s policies could aid undocumented immigrants.

“Kamala Harris wants to raise your taxes and make you pay for free healthcare and free housing in luxury hotels for her millions of illegal aliens,” he wrote.

Harris’s announcement did not include direct mention of provisions for undocumented migrants. She did, however, advocate for lowering prescription drug prices and expanding affordable housing with the construction of three million new housing units.

The former president has announced his own slate of economic proposals, as the two candidates war over what’s regarded as the top issue for voters ahead of the election. Harris seemingly agreed with one of his policies in calling for service and hospitality workers’ tips to be exempt from taxes — a move that blindsided the Democrats.

The GOP nominee also hit Harris’s running mate Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) in his Friday posts.

“Kamala and Walz will put Criminals, Terrorists, and Illegal Aliens FIRST,” he posted. “I will always put law-abiding, hardworking, patriotic AMERICANS First.”
