House Dem: Latinos ‘frustrated’ with Obama, ‘pissed off’ at GOP
Rep. Tony Cardenas (D-Calif.) expressed frustration on Sunday with President Obama’s move to delay action on immigration until after the midterms, saying it smelled of politics.
“Bottom line is of course there are some politics going on,” Cardenas said in an interview with CNN’s “State of the Union.” “I don’t like what the president’s advisers may be telling him.”
{mosads}”We are all frustrated,” Cardenas said of the delay, but was quick to place more blame on Republicans.
Cardenas said while the president has taken too long to take executive action, “first blame” is with Congress.
“The Latino community is frustrated with the president but pissed off with Republicans.”
The White House said Obama decided to delay action until after the November elections because of “Republican’s extreme politicization of the issue,” but immigration activists were quick to call the move a “betrayal.”
