GOP’s Grimm to plead guilty
Rep. Michael Grimm (R-N.Y.) will plead guilty to one charge of felony tax evasion on Dec. 23, according to multiple reports.
The charge is in connection with larger fraud allegations over the management of a restaurant he owned before taking office.
{mosads}He was indicted on 20 charges in August. Investigators alleged that he had hidden more than a million dollars in wages and sales at the restaurant.
Eyewitness News 7 reported that Grimm would plead guilty in Brooklyn Tuesday afternoon. The news was first reported by the New York Daily News.
Grimm easily won reelection in November despite limited support from the Republican Party. He also drew national attention when he threatened to throw a reporter off a balcony inside the Capitol after the reporter asked about the fraud allegations.
